Sore feet

We played our first game of beach volleyball last night at Kohimarama beach. There are still quite a few shells out there, and our feet were all a bit cut up by the time we were finished. I didn’t really realise just how badly cut they were until this morning when the pain started setting in. I might just need a pair of aqua shoes on the sand next week.

In any case, we lost the first match and won the second one, which means that we stay in the pool that we started in. We were very close to winning our first match, too. It came down to 2 points in the 3rd set. Once we get used to the new court, we should start playing better. I’m hoping that we’ll shift up at least one pool in the next few weeks.

Yard Work

A while ago, the owners of the house I live in decided to start remodelling their yard. Since they live in the lot just behind our house, this was pretty visible to us. While talking to them, they mentioned that they were planning to do some cleanup to our yard. When I got to the house yesterday, I couldn’t help but notice that this work has been started.

Having spoken to my flatmate about this, apparently the landlords want something that is very easy to maintain. That seems to mean that we are going to have a lot less ornamental plants and a lot more lawn.

I’m kinda disappointed actually. I kinda liked having all the trees around. I’m hoping that when the work is completed and the debris is cleaned up, that it will have been worth it. I don’t want it to look barren, but it might be nice if it’s not as cluttered, too. I think the coolest part of this is that we might end up with enough space in the back to set up a nice set of table and chairs to enjoy the summer with.
