I went downtown today to catch the Christmas parade and was blown away by how incredibly commercialised the whole thing is. I know it's just a shopping holiday, but this was so unashamedly obvious. There was a dancing Snickers bar, not to mention the big Pump bottle and the M&M's float. The list goes on and one. I should make a checklist of things not to buy.
the other thing that really stuck out was that there were more Hallowe'en style costumes out there than Christmas costumes. I'd like to think that it's a tribute to The Nightmare Before Christmas but I have a hard time really believing it. Some of the costumes were good, but they just didn't happen to be related to the season.
Of course, I really liked the stilt-walkers. Good job with going uphill like that...
